Carpenter looking for work in and around Sydney

I'm looking at booking a flight for the 3rd of February 2009 to Sydney.

I am a qualified carpenter with over 4 years experience and my own tools.

I know the trade is in demand but was wondering what the best way would be about going to work there initially on a holiday visa?

The internet doesn't seem the best way right now... not much luck contacting companies!!!

Would it be worth me taking my tools or would it be possible to work for a company who supplies tools??
